Cyndi participated in the 22nd Annual AIDS Walk in New York City opening ceremonies last weekend. The event also included the participation of Whoopi Goldberg, T.R. Knight from Grey’s Anatomy, Lance Bass from ‘N Sync.
The organizers say this was the most record setting and successful walk ever. Over 45,000 walkers took part in the event and raised over of $6.8 millions.
AIDS Walk Founder and producer Craig R. Miller said “New York showed its strong support for Gay Men’s Health Crisis. We all took to the streets to raise a record-setting $6.8 million to support people living with HIV/AIDS in New York City and to fund the critical HIV prevention programmes needed to stop new infections.”
Robert E. Bank, Esq., Chief Operating Officer at GMHC said “AIDS Walk is proof that New Yorkers care very deeply about AIDS here in New York City, the epicentre of the AIDS epidemic in the U.S. These dollars permit us to provide innovative direct service programmes, outreach and education to hundreds of thousands, and fierce public policy leadership at all levels of government. We are grateful to our corporate and individual donors, media sponsors, and especially to the tens of thousands of New Yorkers who make this event the largest gathering of AIDS activists in the world.”

I would love to Thank You Cyndi for making my Sunday a fantastic day I will never forget. I got to meet and talk with you behind the stage, and thanks for the photo opps. WOW I have seen you in concert 4 times now and Sunday at the Aids Walk just topped it for me. You are wonderful to lend your time and grace. So till we meet again… Peace and love to you.
